The human body functions much like a green plant, collecting energy from the atmosphere. Mankind's radical shift indoors, away from nature's source of health regulating energy that our genes are programmed to respond to, leave us starving for life-supporting solar energy...
light is life's energy!
Fatigue Management
Our busy lives demand that we be ready for anything, 24/7. Whether it's because our job requires us to always be alert and attentive, or because our family is depending on us, we need to feel positive, energetic and focused.
Fatigue is a common and often serious problem in the workplace. Truck Drivers, for example, often attempt to work 18-hour days, making fatigue inevitable. Highway crashes, including those involving cars, peak when daily alertness is at its lowest. Many disasters, including the Chernobyl nuclear core meltdown and the Challenger disaster, occurred at night when operators were suffering from sleep loss.
Feeling fatigued?
If you are feeling fatigued, you may experience:
- Eyes go out of focus or close for a moment
- Blurred vision or seeing mirages ahead
- Wandering and disconnected thoughts
- Headaches or stomach aches
- Inattention to minor but potentially important details
- Degraded mental abilities (including memory, decision-making & perception)
- Increased distractibility and irritability
- Reluctance to initiate tasks and take command
How can I manage my fatigue?
In clinical studies, bright light exposure helps regulate sleep patterns by helping the body clock send signals to the rest of the body that morning has arrived. While light exposure can never replace sleep, it may produce a similar energy-boosting effect as drinking a cup of coffee, without the side effects of dehydration and possibly caffeine addiction. Bright light exposure shouldn’t be used to replace sleep or to promote sleep deprivation, as nothing can replace a deep, sufficient sleep.
General Usage Instructions: The Sunshine System Light is the first personal light therapy product designed to provide specific beneficial rays of the sun with no UV light.
- Typical usage time is 15-30 minutes a day – individual usage time will vary.
- For most applications, usage is once per day, on a daily basis.
- Timing of light exposure is very important, and varies by your individual need.
- The Sunshine System Light should be positioned approximately 12-24 inches (30-60 cm) from your face, and should be offset at a 30 to 45 degree angle, like sunlight coming in a window.
- The Sunshine System Light beam must be directed at your eyes, and your eyes must be open to achieve benefit.
- The Sunshine System Light beam is very bright – like the sun – in order to provide the benefit you seek. You do not stare at the Sunshine System Light – as you do not stare at the sun – although it is not harmful to glance at it occasionally.
- Typically, you will recognize when you've received sufficient light - most often by feeling of heightened alertness, energy, and/or mood.
